UltraKit Heatsink Lapping kit - any good?

    No experience with the kit. Most people just go the the hardware store and get the requisite stuff. You'd probably be better off hitting WalMart or Home Depot. If a small site can sell it for a profit at $7, a large local retailer can likely beat it.

    Also, don't lap heatpipe direct touch bases.

    For the extra-fine grade sandpaper, you'll probably need to visit an auto parts store.
    Temperature reductions of up to 40 F!
    Hmm, not sure I would trust a vendor making that statement. Well, I suppose a lapped heatsink would reduce temperatures 40F, compared to no heatsink AT ALL. Yeah, maybe that's what they mean.

    If you are looking at buying a lapping kit, this person has a very good reputation on the OCForums forums for good service and quality for reasonable prices. I haven't personally bought from him but there are many on OCForums who have.
