DO Saved XP files transfer 2 W/7

I am going from XP to Windows 7. All my files are backed up. My ? is. Will I be able to transfer the files from my external backup which is in XP to my computer once I install 7?

    Yep... Actually, when you install Win7, it will see the XP install and back it up for you (if you trust it).
