Special Edition Catan Dice cups
It's too cold to be out in my garage workshop, so while I can't be working on Giant Catan, I decided to get to a smaller Catanish project that I'd been putting off for a while.
Catan themed dice cups.
Each cup is tin, painted 'steel' with a hammered finish (which didn't quite turn out the way I had visualized, but I still like how it looks), then lined on the inside and on the bottom with black felt. The designs are cut from actual Catan cards, then affixed to the tin with a gloss lacquer, so they have a smooth glassy finish on the side with the design. (similar to the the method I used on the robot tin I made for Dras, except that design I pained by hand, and I only used one coat of the laquer, so it's not quite as glassy.)
The dice are standard Chessex 15mm rounded dice. Each cup has a black with copper pips to be the 'wooden' die and a gold-marble with silver pips to be the 'yellow' die, so that it's compatible with Cities and Knights.
