Trojan/Virus problems. Need help. HijackThis log posted.

I have been getting some popups lately that tend to say things like women's hair care and whatnot. Although, it opens up an entire webpage rather than an official popup. Mainly though, everytime I open up the internet (Internet Explorer) I get a popup that says Windows Firewall has blocked this application from accessing the internet, indicating Internet Explorer. However, if I just close that window I can go anywhere online even though it's still "blocked". I also get an AVG popup that says it has detected a random trojan/virus file and then has me detain/quarantine it. Usually, it's in the C://Windows directory, but it has been in the Temp folder and also I've seen some in other folders according to the AVG alert. I have included my most recent HijackThis log with this post. I have to split it in half as it's too big for one post. The second post shows the rest of the HijackThis log.

Someone please check it out and tell me how to be rid of these nuisances.

    1) Use Firefox or Chrome or something that's not Internet Explorer.
    2) Get, install and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.
    3) Don't install browser toolbars, and uninstall any you might have installed.

    This should get you started.
  • BobbyDigiBobbyDigi ? R U #Hats ! SoCal Icrontian
    2) Get, install and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.
    Download Here
Start there. The other suggestions will come with time but will nto help resolve your current issues.

Actually, I'd give it a 50/50 chance the pop-ups are caused by something specifically affecting IE. Running the scan first is a good call, but I'd stop using IE for the forums and such.

Boot to safe mode. Run the following tools:

    1. Rkill

    2. MBAM

    3. Combofix

    4. CCleaner

Then boot back into regular mode and install a good virus scanner like Avira AntiVir or Avast!, and scan with it.

The only change I would make is that MBAM won't install in safe mode (at least, the last time I tried) and Combofix is specifically recommended to run in normal mode if possible.
  • Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm going to try your suggestions out and I will keep you posted on how it goes. If all else fails I will just re-install my Windows.
  • Well, MBAM said I had a rootkit.zeroaccess and had me restart. The Combofix had me restart 3 different times and originally found what it termed a rather difficult rootkit infection. It took a while to finally scan and once I rebooted it didn't give me any immediate popups or anything to quarantine. AVG did find a large file with 26 components and corresponding files (the largest it's found), and after removing that it had me restart rather than quarantine. A restart, other than a quarantine, told me that something was different. Since that restart it has been running fine. No popups. No redirects when I do a google search. Also, it doesn't give me that Windows Firewall has blocked IE warning whenever I open IE. All looks good. Is there anything else I can do to make sure that all is well? I can post back results to make sure. What do you guys think?
  • TushonTushon I'm scared, Coach Dallas Icrontian
Avira instead of AVG, but that is it.
  • What is the difference between Avira and AVG? I have had a lot of people recommend AVG over the years.
