    Yeah, I know, I didn't even get into the Fallout series until after New Vegas was out. At that point, I picked up Fallout 3 GOTY and played it for a bit then grabbed New Vegas and played it a lot. Turns out, the GPU in my new laptop does not like Fallout. The cut scenes have massively garbled colors :( at least when playing it seems to be okay.

    I'd start playing about with compatibility settings if you haven't already.
    There aren't that many cutscenes though, so you won't miss much (nothing that isn't on youtube anyway).

    TBH, I consider #1 skippable if you play #2.
