I disagree about DVD +/- R DL but yeah for RW DL seems kinda of pointless. But the flipside of that is how much are Blu-ray and HD DVD writable drives, if they are even available at all. DVD HD and Blu ray piss me off anyway its just a consumer screw-job and people shouldnt even buy the equipment or media until the industry learns to standardize.
