Ram question

I am looking to get a few new parts as listed below, and was wondering what ram would go best with the setup I am buying:

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...80717-2-240412

$421

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...102-175&depa=0

$65

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=101222

$179

----

I already have an eVGA 6800 w/ an nvsilencer5, but need to upgrade a few parts into a new computer.

Need some ram suggestions though, any help from the ocz guys would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, i would suggest staying away from that mainboard as Asus have serious problems with it's current AMD lineup. At stock clocks it performs on par, but it won't clock worth a damn at all.

Any chance for a pci-e swap at all? The options is much better on that platform with much better mainboards.

As for the ram now that the TCCD options are harder, i would suggest:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-845&depa=0

They clock almost identical to the tccd ram and on several platforms.

Mac is right on everything he posted. Get an Nvidia NF4 board and the RAM Mac linked to (its been getting great reviews and will last through the next few boards if you upgrade fairly often). If you don't want to switch to a PCI-e card now then an NF3 Ultra board (particularly the DFI Lanparty NF3). But I would still recomend getting an NF4 board and you could go down to an XP3000 winnie core and still get a setup the will clock to 2.5 w/ a stock HSF.

Only thing is that I didn't want to upgrade from my recently purchased video card.

Buying a non-agp mobo means I'd have to upgrade to a new video card which is something I wasn't planning on doing.

I asked a few friends and they fully agree with the ram you listed, that looks great to me, but I was hoping to buy a mobo that supported AGP.

I have 2 AGP S939 boards here, the Epox and the MSI, both are dual channel S939 boards based on the Nforce3 chipset. Both are great boards i must say, but i must hold a coin on the Epox between the two. Epox 9NDA3+.

dj, check with Ebay what you could sell your agp card for cause it's gonna drop very fast very soon. If you sell gear like the cpu and or the videocard every 6 months, you don't loose much when upgrading. If i didn't do like this, i could never afford upgrading all the time. I had a x800 Pro for over a year, but i only lost $30 when i recently sold it.
For the money i got 2X6600GT which i can both run in SLI or use in 2 separate rigs. My options got a whole lot better with SLI or 2 equal cards. 2X6600GT beats the hell out of most other singlecard options out there and they are pretty cheap and doesn't draw much power at all.
