which memory to get.

I'm helping a friend pick out some memory, and I'm just wondering whats hte difference between this (ocz gold) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227047

and titanium
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227056

The golds timings are 4-4-4-8, but the titaniums timings are 2-3-2-5. My question is how much better is the titanium than the gold? Its only $10 more for the titanium, but will those lower timings be noticible from benchmarks and such?

Yes, there's a massive difference between 2/3/2 and 4/4/4.

The first link is for DDR2 5400 4-4-4

Second link is for DDR 3200 2-3-2

There is a big difference between DDR (184 pin) and DDR2 (240 pin) as they fit completely different boards. Then you have 2 completely different speeds. Then the timing is based on the speed difference but it is now a moot point.

Agreed. Make sure to check what system he is using now. There is no DDR2 PC3200 ram, nor is there any DDR PC5400 ram. The 3200 is the tightest you can get in a 2B configuration today. If you don't overclock, this is the ram to get.
