Icrontic Goes Camping!

Few nerds can handle being away from their computer for a weekend.

No IRC, IM's, Forums, 4chan. They just cant handle being without.

And, then you have the real men. The ones who don't mind missing a shower. The ones who can start a fire, cook the days food on it, and tell stories around it. The ones who can sleep under the stars, next to nature!

tiberiuslazarus, DocFrazier, CannonFodder, Myrmidon and myself will be camping at Bridgeview campground in Iowa this weekend! Hopefully, we don't burn the forest down

I miss going camping, it's nice to get away from civilization every now and then.

Damnit. Wish I'd have seen this sooner. I'd have dropped by. Thats not too much of a hop from SD and I still have my fishin' poles and tents in the trunk of my car. =/

Great times. Was nice to get away from everything for a couple days.

Only loss so far is my G1 phone. We'll see if a works in a few days of drying out.

My previous laptop had a 20 oz. mountain dew spilled on it and survived. It's all about if you get the power off and the battery out before things start frying.

And beyond that, you need to rinse it clean to make sure you haven't bridged any contacts when it finishes drying.

Or in my case, disassemble the whole thing once you get it home and clean each part with alcohol then let it dry for a day before reassembling.

You should plan it farther in advance next year. I love taking road trips (and I enjoy camping as well) however I need like 2 months notice to take the requisite time off.
