I was also considering "Show me your Nords." Let us celebrate all things Nord-like.

Well I'm sorry that as a part time worker I cant afford to upgrade my PC to run anything better than Shogun 2.

And I tried that, too much glare.

When you have a PC that can run Shogun 2 why would you need other games?

Ontopic: I'm 99% sure you need to use a PC to screencap, either via a video capture card or over the network with XNA.

Lol np mate, no I'd like to upgrade my PC but at this point replacing it would be better as good as it is outfitting it for 2012 would be more expensive than a new pc.

There is one Nord in this thread. ONE. Two if you count Jokke.

Side thought: Skyrim needs some machinima of regular ordinary Nordish meal time.

The images don't give Jokke The Malicious the respect he demands, but
It's the best I could do. Somehow doesn't seem to capture the crisp details, even though I used prtscr instead of the Steam Screenshot Feature.. The Dragonarmor one is quite dark, but I think that only adds to the "fear"...

This game was actually designed and coded specifically for Jokke. The mead, the women, the aurora, the dragon-slaying - it's an homage, all to him.

I know, right. In all seriousness, I love the game. I've never missed winter home so much as when I was doing the initiation quest for the Stormcloaks, wind howling, snow drift that let me see no further ahead than my axe can reach, sound of the waves smashing against the rocks. I can fell the chill run down my real life spine, despite being dressed in virtual fur from top to bottom, and I know, deep within me, that if I take one wrong step, my body will plummet into the depths of the ocean, never to be seen again. And it is, at that moment I realize; this is where I belong, this is where my heart is, this is my true home. And I love it.

    So awesome.

now that you mention it - and I tweeted this earlier today - Skyrim does a fantastic job of making me feel cold in real life. It's odd, but no other game that I can think of has potrayed cold as well as Skyrim has. The game makes me shiver in certain places. The environmental immersion is perfect.

I let Lydia and some other guy (Faendal?) get killed off ... there wasn't much mourning, as I'm stone cold. I do feel like I should have kept her around for mule purposes, but I guess I can hire a merc.

So, did you level smithing all the way up for that?

    That's quite a breastplate.

Lydia eventually left me (and took my full dwarven armor set with her, that wench) when she grew tired of waiting around in Riften where I abandoned her. I have a new housecarl in my digs in Solitude. She will likely leave me as well.

No, I just leveled it up to 60 so I could use the arcane blacksmith perk.I assembled the set from found/purchased pieces, then improved it myself up to Exquisite. I'm also a 70 enchanter and use black soul gems to enchant each piece with some awesome perk.

I also did her weapon: a Daedric battleaxes improved to Flawless and enchanted with Frost and Magicka damage. She's a machine.

The best part is, most of the time we never even melee; I'm a 75 archer with a freaking amazing bow and I gave her a custom Ebony bow as well that does 32 base damage. By the time we fire our first few arrows, most things are dead before we're even closed in to melee range.

Snark: You'll find Lydia (and your armor) in Dragonreach hold in Whiterun. She returns there when abandoned. Your armor will be in her inventory.

If you buy a house and max it out, it should have mannequins that you can hang your armor on.
  • SnarkasmSnarkasm Madison, WI Icrontian

Ah! Nice. I found the weapon racks, but haven't found the mannequins yet.

I got married today. Pro tip: tab out of the final line the priest jabbers on about so you can talk to your wife before she leaves the temple. She jets immediately, but he keeps prattling. If you don't tell her where she should live, the whole thing bugs out. Also, she won't arrive instantly at your place, so wait around for a while.

Kyle got crushed by that "Dead Lydia" bug. It was freaking hilarious. He'd start the ceremony, and suddenly the temple would fill with shouting and Lydia's dead body would flop, dead, onto the floor in front of the door. The ceremony would be called off and everybody would keep saying "Just leave." "Just get out of here."

It was so funny and tragic at the same time. LYDIA, Y U DIE OF BROKEN HEART?
