FCC opens proceedings on Comcast

There's a technique in network called "Packet shaping" where the type of information crossing a network is analysed and filtered or permitted based on type. What if an entire ISP were doing it unchecked? It's a slippery slope my friends, and Comcast was caught doin' the nasty.

FCC is now holding a hearing on what many view to be the "Canary in a coal mine" of the free and open internet. Will the little birdy sing or perish? Time will tell, and Ars expands the scope of this here tidbit.
