I would change the CPU to the AMD AM3 Athlon II x2 240 and the motherboard to the MB AM2 Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P. After that the rest looks OK unless you game and can afford more for a video card that what you have selected.

Both items are available at itestate.com.au.

I second Mt_Goat's suggestion. Go with the AMD, beef it up a little bit (the ultra durable gigabyte line that he suggested are awesome boards).

The only difference I see between the two is the CPU. I'd have to say that the Core 2 Duo E7400 is better than the Athlon 64 X2 6000+, however, it's not good enough to warrant paying $100 more.

With that said, I agree with Mt_Goat's suggestion of going with the Athlon II X2 240. I can also vouch for the quality of Gigabyte boards. I recently purchased one of their 785Gs and it's running quite nicely.

Add another tick in favor of the X2 240, and also in support of Gigabyte's motherboards. I used to buy Asus boards, then I purchased my first Gigabyte board about half a year ago, and I never looked back.

I don't have much experience with Phenom 2's and Athlon 2's but they look pretty nice. I do like my Gigabyte motherboard though.
