Folding@Home Points Per Day results

I have wanted to start an Icrontic Folding@home database for a while, so I am doing it now. For CPU PPD post which processor, clock speed, and which client(single core, SMP, or SMP2). For GPU2 or GPU3 post GPU model, core-shadder(if applicable)-mem speed, and which GPU client.

Use HFM.NET or FahMon to do this.

If we're going to start this database, perhaps we should also set some constraints on how the data is collected? I.E. what software is used to collect the data and what settings, that way we don't have serious statistical gaps from people using different software and whatnot.

fahmon and hfm are the only two programs I have been able to find that do ppd calcs for f@h. Both of the current versions do time factor bonus for smp2. The difference between what both programs report is within 20 ppd and to add to that I do not care about WU series in this, this is simply a reference base so people can take a look to see what gear produces well and how similar gear stacks up against each other.

Fair enough. My contributions for the moment (more to come when I jury rig some way of monitoring my workstation from home, darn firewall).

    Phenom II X4 925, SMP2, Windows - 4387.8
Intel Celeron M 1.50 GHz, single core, Linux (Debian) - 73.4 (Don't judge me! It's my old laptop which is sitting at my work acting as a simple file dump for me until I have the money to build a proper server)

When Folding gets the whole computer to itself, I get between

    CPU PPD
    AMD Phenom IIx4 940 -- 5100-5350 PPD

I was using my XFX 5770 for a while, but it actually lowered my overall PPD because of the CPU stress so I have stopped that. I'll get some sample (crap) numbers for my server later.

I haven't figured out why HFM can't connect via FTP to my server (even though I can use a normal client to do so), so I dont have good monitoring on that (yet).

    Core i7 920 at 3.6, I think - around 8k ppd. You're doin' something wrong, Jokke. :)

I'll take a look at my settings at home and update this a little more precisely.

mmmm GTX 460. Stock clocks does 9261 ppd at 46% fan duty and 65C. Darn thing is silent. Single video card system with Q9450 putting out 15,243 a day.
  • ardichokeardichoke

only 9261? That seems pretty low to me given that my old 8600GTS would put out around 4k ppd at stock clocks....
  • _k__k_

That is actually right in line with all of the other 460s people have posted numbers for. And that 86 wouldn't get 4k on any of the current GPU3 WUs or most of the GPU2 WUs excluding the 353 and one other set.

You mean 2k when you say 4k right?
  • ardichokeardichoke

It was all the way back in January when I last folded on my 8600, but I'm pretty sure that I was averaging 4k ppd. Well, I guess I had an Athlon X2 folding as well... so I guess that would leave 3.5k ppd unaccounted for.

    New folding numbers:
    Phenom IIx4 940 3.0GHz - 5500+ (when alone, mileage varies with use)
    9800 GX2
    (720/1050/1800) 11000+ (~5555 each)
Athlon IIx2 240 (2.8GHz) - 1300 (keep in mind it is probably offloading some of the GPUs)

    Roommates shitty desktop - 150

    PS3 - ... I don't know ... w/e a PS3 does

If I get my full financial aid package, I'm going to be adding a GTX470 (or 465) to my main rig and selling my XFX 5770.

    Dual Intel Xeon E5506 2.13GHz - 8303ppd :)
    So a single E5506 does 4151ppd with SMP2

Interval time is 9 minutes 38 seconds

Using the smp 8 flag the a3 core is using 53,605k of memory. Now I just need to figure out where to stick the second workstation so I can run it too.

EVGA GTX 465 clocked at 825/1675/1650 - 10k+ (running 11.1k right now) ... thought when watching the GPU usage, it jumps around alot 65%+ but never gets near 100% ... probably related to its beta status or something. I turned this off during Mafia II but I don't know that is made a big difference on performance. Gonna try SCII and LoL this weekend with it on to see if it impacts performance significantly.

sitting around 29k total PPD right now, will increase when I install new proc this weekend.

Newest piece of hardware grabbing points for me:

    AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 4180
    6-cores @ 2.6GHz
    10628ppd according to FahMon
I can get a HFM's numbers once I get it added on my desktop at home
  • ardichokeardichoke

Latest revised numbers from HFMlNET v0.6.2 - Beta calculating points off all available frames

AMD Opteron 4180, 6-core @ 2.6GHz Debian Linux GRO-A3 Core - 8606 (obviously this is taking a hit from running 2 minecraft servers)
    AMD Phenom II X4 925, 4-core @ 2.8GHz Arch Linux GRO-A3 Core - 5730
    AMD Phenom II X4 925, 4-core @ 2.8GHz Win7 GRO-A3 Core - 5223

Just thought I'd post an update since my numbers seem to have changed with more recent WUs and whatnot.

    sick

my 465 was putting out similar numbers till the v7 client went haywire and doesn't like it anymore.

I think why it is low is because i have my 8 cores doing SMP. Where as I don't have a dedicated core to the GPU.
