Format: Double Elimination (Timed)
Prizes:

Sure, I'm brutal at this game as I haven't played in over a year but count me in.

Also, I have a "copy" of the game that works perfectly on any PC over LAN. No install needed, just drag and drop . So if you don't have a copy of the game, don't let that be your excuse!

Question: what gameplay mode/rule set will we be using? So I can start practicing...

Ok, here is my suggestions for settings:

Game type: death mathc
map type: coastal
map size: Small if doing 1v1 or medium if 2v2
population: 100 or 125
game speed: normal
reveal map: explored
starting age: standard
victory: time limit
time: whatever

team together: X
lock teams: X

I think doing 2v2 would be more fun with time limit. One person on the team could work on building the military while the other worries about gathering resources etc.

Conquest is probably a bit more fun, but depending how the player's playing style those games can go on forever, so it is practical to use the time limit.

How do you figure?

In LAN multiplayer the only options you have for game time is Death Match and Regicide.

In regicide you try and kill the other player's/team's king before they kill yours.
In death match all players/teams start with an allotted resources and battle to the death.

Playing death match with the time limit, the winner is whoever defeats the other team or has the highest score at the end of XX time.

Those are the only two lan game modes, unless you are talking about the Conquerors expansion which had some additional ones.

The tournament kinda failed... We had 12 people but version issues and connection issues kept us from really getting it into it.

Right now, they are doing an 4 on 4 game. Long game... Stay tuned!!!
