Time: Friday @ 3:00 pm
Format: Double Elimination (Timed)
Prizes:
  • 1 ticket - Entrance prize
  • 1 ticket - Each Team win
  • 1 ticket - Fourth place
  • 2 tickets - Third place
  • 3 tickets - Second place
  • 4 tickets - First place

Captain's assemble and pick players at start time... We're here to have fun not wipe the floor of all noobs.

    Again... I think I have a few PC's that can be used for those that want to play but do not have a PC or the game. sign up and we'll work something out. Cool?

    Sure, I'm brutal at this game as I haven't played in over a year but count me in.

    Also, I have a "copy" of the game that works perfectly on any PC over LAN. No install needed, just drag and drop :). So if you don't have a copy of the game, don't let that be your excuse!

    Question: what gameplay mode/rule set will we be using? So I can start practicing...

    Team game. All players must always remain at peace. Team with the most gold after 30 min. wins.

    LOL.. if jared has the sweet version.. i might just play, I just am not a huge fan of this RTS :(

    Ok, here is my suggestions for settings:

    Game type: death mathc
    map type: coastal
    map size: Small if doing 1v1 or medium if 2v2
    population: 100 or 125
    game speed: normal
    reveal map: explored
    starting age: standard
    victory: time limit
    time: whatever

    team together: X
    lock teams: X

    I think doing 2v2 would be more fun with time limit. One person on the team could work on building the military while the other worries about gathering resources etc.

    Conquest is probably a bit more fun, but depending how the player's playing style those games can go on forever, so it is practical to use the time limit.

    death match is a bad idea... that's not actually playing the game anymore.

    How do you figure?

    In LAN multiplayer the only options you have for game time is Death Match and Regicide.

    In regicide you try and kill the other player's/team's king before they kill yours.
    In death match all players/teams start with an allotted resources and battle to the death.

    Playing death match with the time limit, the winner is whoever defeats the other team or has the highest score at the end of XX time.

    Those are the only two lan game modes, unless you are talking about the Conquerors expansion which had some additional ones.

    Those aren't the only two modes... You can also just play AOE2

    Found my copy on Amazon. You all still have a chance to order it if you do overnight or two-day shipping :)

    BTW, I got free 2-day shipping because I signed up for a free trial (that hopefully I remember to cancel) for Amazon prime.

    Go into your account settings and there's a button that says "don't renew" or something. Click it, and you don't have to worry about forgetting.

    The tournament kinda failed... We had 12 people but version issues and connection issues kept us from really getting it into it.

    Right now, they are doing an 4 on 4 game. Long game... Stay tuned!!!
