It has been reported that after some speculation, [b]Time Warner[/b] in fact hasn't engaged in any talks with [b]Microsoft[/b] about selling its struggling [b]America Online[/b] unit to the software vendor, a [b]Time Warner[/b] spokeswoman said today.
[blockquote]In fiscal 2003, AOL reported drops in subscribers and revenue and suffered the ignominy of seeing its acronym dropped from the parent company's name. AOL is also the focus of ongoing investigations by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice related to past accounting and disclosure practices.

The Nebraska Supreme Court on Friday revived a class-action suit brought by consumers that charges [b]Microsoft[/b] with antitrust violations.

NVIDIA are now on their third incarnation of the nForce chipset with nForce3. The NVIDIA nForce 250Gb stands at the forefront with NVIDIA Gigabit Ethernet, NVIDIA Firewall, a new system utility for control over system settings and massive hard drive support through NVIDIA RAID. The NVIDIA PR folk brought the nForce3 250Gb into the office the other day for a one on one and admittedly it not only garnered some interest; some features are just darn clever.

[blockquote]MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (HLN) - A Memphis woman was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after she bludgeoned her boyfriend to death with an iPod.
Arleen Mathers, 23, was arrested Thursday morning after she called Memphis Police and said she had killed her boyfriend, according to a Sheriff’s Department report. When deputies arrived at Mathers’ apartment at 528 Poplar Avenue, Mathers led them to the body of her boyfriend, Brad Pulaski, 27.
Brad Pulaski had died of blunt trauma to the head after being repeatedly bludgeoned with an iPod, a popular MP3 player produced by Apple.[/blockquote]

Police said no motive has been confirmed, although evidence suggested the murder was the result of a domestic dispute after Pulaski erased the contents of Mathers’ iPod.
According to law officers, Mathers was hysterical when police arrived and told them that she killed her boyfriend only after he accused her of illegally downloading music and erased about 2,000 of her MP3s. Mathers complained that it took 3 months to build her music collection.
An autopsy performed Friday afternoon at Methodist Hospital showed that Brad Pulaski had been beat multiple times in the face and chest by a blunt metal object, and died of internal bleeding, said Dr. Felix Klamut, deputy coroner.

Today [b]TrendLabs[/b] declared a Yellow Alert to control the spread of [i]PE_BAGLE.Q[/i]. There has been numerous infection reports of this malware spreading in Korea and Japan.

The first method it uses is sending email messages that exploits a known vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook, known as the Object Tag vulnerability in Popup Window (MS03-040). It has been reported that [b]SIS[/b] is planning to introduce a further two revisions of its Rambus chipsets - the R659FX, a four channel PC1333 version, and the R658TX, four channel PC1600 16dx2.

We recently reported on a rumour that [b]ATI[/b] is very interested in acquiring [b]XGI[/b]. Well this story apparently doesn’t have legs.

[b]Time Warner[/b] is looking at different options for [b]America Online[/b], including the possible sale, spin-off or reorganization of the Internet service provider, according to a published report.
[blockquote]A sale or spin off would essentially undo the 2001 purchase by America Online of media conglomerate Time Warner, whose units include cable television operations, movie studios, television and cable networks as well as magazines. Despite a 39 percent rise in the stock price over the last 12 months, the combined company is still worth two-thirds less than on the day the merger was completed. The name AOL was stripped out of the corporate name last year. CNN/Money is also a unit of Time Warner.

Just one look at the benchmarks will show that the Athlon 64 FX-53 pegs a significant increase over the competition and its XP predecessor.
