A judgement against the [i]Linux[/i] distributor could force the company to stop using its trademark and surrender its domain names, pending an appeal.

A new variant of the [i]MyDoom[/i] virus has started spreading, albeit slowly, and security experts expect it to target the main Web site of the music industry.

A new [b]Nvidia[/b] [i]ForceWare[/i] driver has been made available. This release, made by [b]E-Dimensional[/b] (one of [b]Nvidia[/b]'s partners), is the new official [i]ForceWare 55[/i] driver, which looks set to be released directly from the chip maker on March 1st. However, there is reportedly a bug with these drivers with regard to running the [i]UT 2004[/i] demo. This leads me to believe the next official release [u]direct[/u] from [b]Nvidia[/b] (March 1st), will be either a slightly updated version of this very driver revision, or a slightly newer set of drivers (at least version number wise). These drivers are however official, even though somewhat premature, and are reportedly on the verge of being fully WHQL. Currently, the latest revision available on [b]Nvidia[/b]'s website is still the [i]ForceWare[/i] 53.03 driver set.

It seems [b]Intel[/b] are giving up on [i]Bluetooth[/i]. After years of supporting the technology, it seems the chipmaker has had enough of waiting for it to be fully embraced. Instead [b]Intel[/b] plans to offer their own derivative called [i]Wireless USB[/i].
[blockquote]At the Intel Developer Forum on Wednesday Intel announced the company was giving up on the deadlocked Ultrawideband IEEE task group and going it alone with a derivative offering they are calling Wireless USB. I thought I would take the time to bring it out of moth balls to give you all something to read, considering the speculation regarding the next version of [i]DirectX[/i] is currently quite topical.

It has been reported that both [b]Philips[/b] and [b]MediaTek[/b] expect to begin offering solutions for dual-layer DVD+R technology in the second quarter of this year. Good news for DVD+R, bad news for compression software companies.
