A new version of the popular [b]ATI[/b] GPU overclocking utility, [i]ATITool[/i], has been released.

- No limits overclocking.
- Finding maximum core and memory overclock by rendering into a Direct3D window and scanning the output for visual artifacts.
- Artifact scanning mode for non-ATI cards - use together with a 3rd party overclocking utility.
- Loading a predefined clock profile on Application/Windows startup.
- Hotkeys that can be used any time to load clocks from a profile.
- 3D application detection (Direct3D 8, Direct3D 9, OpenGL) to overclock your video card only when required. [/blockquote]

[link=http://www.theinquirer.net]The Inquirer[/link] is reporting that [b]Nvidia[/b] is almost ready to release a new set of graphics card drivers, a.k.a [i]Detonator 55[/i] or [i]ForceWare 2.0[/i].
[blockquote]This driver should get you "up to" [famous marketing phrase] 20 per cent of performance increase and free auto-overclocking it seems.
This sounds awfully like Nvidia is following the steps of ATI's Overdrive where the card overclocks itself when the core is cold enough to take the burden of higher clock. We guess Nvidia learned that the ATI approach was not bad after all and it finally seems that you won't need to install coolbit.reg to overclock.

The mozzy juggernaut carries on with release 0.8 of the increasingly popular FireFox...
Wait? FireFox.. surely you mean "Firebird" or even (if you remember back that far) "Phoenix". Nope, its name change time again in open source land. Apparently, an open source project of the same name has laid claim to Firebird first... so FireFox is the NEW name for the browser...
