Re: _K's krazy krash kourse of KATastrophe
Viscera Cleanup Detail(3.2 hours): Rage quit this. Honestly this game feels like utter bullshit. The easy levels are par 2 hours, it is 2 hours. You find yourself having to pick up a single shotgun shell at at time or 5 pieces of intestine from one body but lets repeat that 20 times over. Everything in the game seems designed just to take more time. There is a lot of depth to the game but it is something where you have to invest 20+ hours(feels like).
Everything is done in a map scenario. You are a sanitation worker that has to clean up everyone else's mess. Usually that means some science went horribly wrong and most everyone is dead so have fun handling dead bodies. Pretty sure they are not following OSHA regulations. Since there are dead bodies every where there must be blood every where and blood can be smeared. So if you step in the blood you track it around for X steps depending on how big the puddle was. Also as pools of blood, or whatever, get bigger they take longer to clean up with your mop. Now this is where it gets feeling futile. Every 6 or so pushes with your mop you have to go clean it in a bucket. After the water in the bucket gets dirty you have to incinerate the bucket and get a new bucket. But every bucket you procure from the clean bucket machine has a chance of being a bloody limb which you then have to dispose of and clean up the mess it just made. Now repeat this with every type of machine in the game. Some times you have to use a lift but the lift will jerk and jam so while the lift is moving you have to hold the bucket or risk the machine spilling your dirty water every where. Add to this the awkward physics so sometimes items get bumped or don't behave correctly so a mess is made. You spend such a huge time cleaning shit up so you can clean shit up. No idea how people find this fun. BTW there is a scoring system on each level but if you want to know how that works you need to go look stuff up on community boards. While cleaning you will find notes about what happened and flash drives and other random stuff but the little extras just don't feel like enough to make feel like I should have never bought this game.
The achievements on the special maps mean you have to play the game for hours and hours to clear them. I think anyone that 100%s this game is insane. @FettBacon how do you have 4 hours in this game?

Games Completed: 132
Time: 5 weeks 146.36 hours

Re: DOOM (4), and why I'm super mad about it
Bought it this morning. Played for 10 minutes and stopped because it wasn't fun... I strongly dislike the glory kill system and the hyper-gotta-go-fast gameplay.

Re: CB's Patreon and entertainment for you!
I've altered the patron levels a bit, mostly to make it easier (less expensive) for my patrons to support me. If you feel so inclined, please check out the page and share it with friends who might be interested in what I'm doing.
Thanks everyone!

Raid Summary 12/19/2016 Heroic Odyn DOWN! 1/3 H ToV, 3/3 N ToV and 7/7 H EmN
You should all be very proud; Blizzard has stated that the Heroic version of Odyn was overtuned and today (the 20th of December) it will be getting a pretty significant nerf...
However...
We beat it BEFORE the nerf. While our achievement will never be lauded "Ahead of the Curve" style, you know you were able to execute flawlessly with near 100% perfection on an overly-difficult fight before they made it easier.
Heroic Odyn was one of the toughest fights this guild has ever faced. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who voluntarily sat out so that we could get this boss down. For those who have never done mythic raiding before, this is a taste of what it's like. The last time I had this feeling of difficulty and pure grind was during mythic SoO.
Also, thank you to those who stepped up to heal; the healing last night was spectacular.
Oh we also PLOWED through normal ToV and got our second N Helya kill for kicks. Fun times!
On Sunday night we did the usual walk through heroic EmN, but with a bunch of role swaps, which made for an interesting night. Thank you to all who are flexible enough to change roles/characters so that others can get a chance at trying new stuff out.
Great work everybody! Please take this poll about holiday raiding.
Re: Star Wars Rogue One Discussion FULL OF SPOILERS SPOILER THREAD
Re CGI: I thought Leia was well done, for the same reason that @Cliff_Forster cites (brief), vs Tarkin's extended screen time. I really like @AlexDeGruven 's suggestion of hologram, since it would have still worked for basically every scene and would have been even better for the eventual crushing of Krennic by political infighting/bureaucracy. I would have laughed so hard if Krennic's dreams were stolen from him via hologram/telepresence like breaking up via text.
Enjoyed the Vader scenes, wished there was more, but him being a menace in the background is probably good.
and the tape drive stuff is totally plausible for all the reasons/examples given by @ardichoke . Nothing to add

Re: Star Wars Rogue One Discussion FULL OF SPOILERS SPOILER THREAD
Fwiw, The Kid knows nothing of actors, their ages or life status. She had no idea Leah was CGI. She did say she thought something odd about Tarkin but wouldn't have guessed it was that he was animated.

@primesuspect the fact that they store data on giant hard drives in a pillar that requires a robot arm for access is awesome. It's so cool visually, I love that they didn't allow the rules of our world dictate how to tell the story. Suspend disbelief, it's not science fiction, it's a fantasy film.
Consider the obvious alternative: Star Wars Hacking Scene 2016™
Suffice to say: I'm cool with the data silo.

Re: Star Wars Rogue One Discussion FULL OF SPOILERS SPOILER THREAD
CGI on Tarkin and Leia was stunning. Just a little uncanny valley with the perennially-difficult mouth muscles.
Second best Star Wars behind ESB, IMO. Better than Ep. VII because it wasn't derivative/repetitive.
Love love loved it. Star Wars without Lucas is the best Star Wars.
And Red/Gold leader was such good CGI that I didn't even know I was seeing CGI until I read the trivia. First time organic CGI has ever passed by me unnoticed. Most impressive.
