Re: The Queen's Quixotic Quandary
I went ahead and finished the Alan Wake DLCs. The DLCs are really trippy, and I feel like they're harder than the original game. After that, I played American Nightmare. It's great, a lot of fun compared to the original, but it's actually too easy. I played it on normal, which was pretty hard (for me, anyways) on the original, and it was far too easy. I wish I'd done it nightmare. It took me a while to play the first Alan Wake--a couple weeks with inconsistent playing, and it took me only two days to get through American Nightmare. I'd definitely still recommend picking up both games though, if they're on steam sale.
I'm playing Aquaria now. It's harder than you'd think at first. I've definitely ragequit once or twice already. In b4 mad cuz bad.
The next game on my list is Assassin's Creed, which I'm going to skip because I completed 99% of it before. So after Aquaria, it's off to Assassin's Creed 2. I might just play them co-currently.
So my list so far is below. Bolded= Finished. Strikethrough is attempted or partially completed but abandoned. Italics is in progress.
Alan Wake
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Alice: Madness Returns: (I played this previously-- the art direction is fantastic, and the card bridge level is generally one of the most soothing and fantastical levels I've ever played in a game. It was fairly buggy from the console port when I played like, 6 years ago, though.)
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Anna-Extended Edition
Aquaria
Assassin's Creed
Assassin's Creed 2

12 Labours of Hercules V: Kids of Hellas(7.3 hours): The last game I finished was back in August, wow. Slightly ashamed I get so excited when a new one of these releases but I always buy the newest version for 50 cents. 4 and 5 have been 7 hours, literally have 28 hours in for the entire series. By the end of each release I hate the game simply because I cram them so I am done. I think I did this one in about 36 hours. These games are all the same. Beat a level and move forward. Find a puzzle piece and do a bonus level. Click click click. Kind of strange reading steam reviews of this game because people complain about it but if you are playing this then most likely you have played the others and they are cookie cutter. What did you expect Progress Quest 3D???
The story involves Hercules playing with his shiny balls to unzombie kids Ares took over because he is a butt hurt prick. This iteration follows 4 plot development which means the story only covers 4 chapters and the 5th is there because they always have 5. The developers crammed in levels just for their standard achievements. Portals continue to show up which is the one element to the game which I honestly hate because blue portals go to all blue portals and it gets confusing after mid game where paths intermingl. The game is still Defense Grid level of can't stop playing.

Games Completed: 131
TIme: 5 weeks 143.16 hours

Re: Icrontic New Years' Eve 2016
Massalinie and I will be showing up but we'll need rides from the airport to the house.
Icrontic New Years' Eve 2016
Howdy folks.
Pretty standard Icrontic event. Please don't show up before Thurs the 29th unless you've asked Brian or I. The fates have put Jan 1 on a Sunday which is pretty much the best possible scenario for us; that means most of us have Monday off too for extra recovery time.
It's possible we already have some champagne in the house from a certain case of electoral blue balls (see what I did there?). BYOB and BYO snacks as usual. We'll have the champagne but we surely won't turn it down if you want to also contribute some for the midnight toast.
I feel like 2016 maybe didn't go so hot so let's get 2017 off to a proper start with some quality midnight hugs and kisses.
Check out the 2017 accommodations thread for general house info: http://icrontic.com/discussion/100656/icrontic-2017-events-accommodations#latest
Let me know if you need lodging (including how many nights) and please let me know if your plans change.
