Raid Summary 02/06 - 02/08 2016

Despite the weird break in the raid schedule due to the Super Bowl, we had a great raid weekend.

On Saturday @RiffRaff and @Levex stepped up to lead an alt/gearing run. We stuck with heroic HFC's first tier and made it through to Iskar. The RNGeesus was generous with gear for alts and even a few mains.

Yesterday we took on Socrethar, Fel Lord Zakuun, Xhul'horac, and Mannoroth and got them all down. Good ol' Kethark finally got a weapon upgrade and he heroic tier gloves, and a few other people got gear as well but who cares about them this is about me and my luck.

See you next week on Saturday for first tier HFC, and Sunday/Monday for our progression raid!

Firewatch released

The Mac software studio Panic has created their first video game and it's out today on Steam & PS4.

Firewatch is a mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio. The year is 1989.

Yesssssss. The last game I played straight thru is Gone Home so this sounds right up my alley.

Overwatch beta returns today

Anyone that was previously in the beta still has access. Note: access to the 3-day free weekend doesn't count. You had to be in the actual beta last round for that to carry forward.
New beta invitations are being sent. Check the Battle.net app and see if you can install Overwatch; don't wait for an email--it may never come.
All stats have been reset.
Private matches are now possible. Yes, Icrontians vs. Icrontians.
Game now has a king of the hill mode. One conflict point per 3 rounds; best of 3 wins. This format is called Control.
There are two control maps.
New experience gain: vanity item rewards. #hats
All heroes generate ult charge at a slow and constant rate, now.
Some other crap.

The State of NASA livestream.

Today at 1:30pm eastern, NASA will broadcast their "State of NASA" event on NASATV live from Langley here in Virginia.

Bonus. The company I work for as well as some other local teams are providing audio lighting and projection (me) for the event. If you tune in you can see what I do for a living!

Re: USB voltage issues

Since you have come this far I see no harm in trying the old tried and true method. Remove EVERYTHING from the case and test on the static bag on top of the box. Do it by adding every single component one by one. Install the dimms one at a time at first in each slot then both. This will take a substantial amount of time but stress as you go and stress hard for extended periods of time. If by the time you finish and still have a problem I would move it to a different power source. Be it off conditioned power or a new location.

I also recommend using a bios level memtest for the dimms and stress with Prime. So Prime needs to use Prime. (Remember all this from a time long ago in a galaxy not so far away? )
