Re: What are you listening to?
Damn yeah, Erasure is good shit. I feel like there is going to be a resurgence of interest in 80s music because I think a lot of people have disdain for it since the aesthetic is so goofy to our modern sensibilities. Also, the sense of "new" electronic toys to make music with, experimentation, and rudimentary-ness of it all is off-putting to some, but there are a lot of geniuses to be found in the music of the 80s.
I just watched Atomic Blonde last night, which takes place in 1989, and the soundtrack is LIT. It's a perfect time capsule of the sounds of 1989; the punk movement, the fall of the Wall, the sense of optimism and all of it was just captured perfectly by the soundtrack. I was 12, and the movie and the music just brought be right back to that magical time when I was just learning to appreciate music.
Re: Borderlands 3
I cant wait regardless of platform. No problem with gearbox getting paid as much as they can for their work.
Re: Midsommar Discussion (Spoilers, yes)
@Canti you have got to see Hereditary. It's a masterpiece
Re: Midsommar Discussion (Spoilers, yes)
I haven't seen Hereditary and had pretty much no idea what to expect going into Midsommar. Hadn't even seen the trailer, just heard it's a good horror movie which is a lie. It is a GREAT horror movie, probably the best I've seen. However I think horror movie isn't quite accurate. It's more a marathon of extreme discomfort. In any case, I can't think of another movie that made me feel so bad while enjoying it at the same time.
Also, I saw this 3 days ago now and have tried twice to post my thoughts but couldn't find the words, still haven't completely. I'm sure I could say a lot more about how well it shows conflicts in cultural beliefs, subtleties and foreshadowing, and is really just a movie about a failed relationship with a lot of other crazy stuff fueling the end of it. There is so much going on for such a slow paced movie and so much of it not obvious I almost feel like I need to take notes on a second viewing to really take it all in and that's not a bad thing.
