Bluetooth Intellimouse Help

I got a Bluetooth Intellimouse Explorer for christmas and it's been really nice but today it crapped out on me. I was typing a message and then it just quit responding. The red LED on it still reacted to being moved, and when I press the connection button on the bottom of the mouse, it flashes like it's trying to connect.

I run connection wizard and it doesn't find the mouse.
I check the wireless devices thingy and it says there's a mouse. If I disconnect that one, it can still find the mouse.

The battery indicator under the wireless settings says the batteries are good but I don't trust it. Could the batteries be low enough that it just can't broadcast enough to move the darn pointer or is something worse afoot. I tried switching the batteries with some that are almost new from a CD player Garg has and that didn't help. I even re-installed Intellipoint.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! A little thingy popped up that said my batteries are "critically" low. I guess that if they aren't replaced, my mouse will have a heart attack or commit suicide or something.
