Gromac 1.55 core versus 1.56

edited February 2004 in Folding@Home
I know the new 1.56 core is out but was wondering if there was any performance difference between the two. I know that 1.56 is supposed to be more stable and fix a lot of freezing problems but I did not have any of those to begin with. Does anyone have any logs or other documentation that directly compares the two to see if any raw performance is gained by switching to the new core (aside from stability issues)? Thanks

I can't link to the beta forum at the community but one guy did mention that he had a 10-20 second increase in speed per frame. A few ppl in the thread refer to it as being faster and I don't recall anyone saying any different. Someone commented also that it even speeds up the Intel procs so ...not sure what all this is worth but I can post some quotes if you'd like. I know I'd much rather see logs posted as proof myself.

I can link to here though: http://forum.folding-community.org/index.php

I have read that it is faster from one of the guys at Stanford. I have seen it go a few seconds faster.
