windows xp rebooting prob.
I've been having this prob for quite a time now and i've try almost every solution i could.. (except formating.. )
Every time i start a bittorrent download, it start and a few min after, the compu reboot...
I've manage to close the auto-rebooting function of windows xp.
when the problem happen again i saw a blue screen.
here's what i saw in it: (initialy in french..i did the translation)
A problem has been detected and windows has been stop to prevent any damage from happenning to your computer.

My experience with this is that its one of two things... either a driver issue or a peice of hardware... Most likely place to start is memory, but can't rule out the CPU or the PSU either...
You might be able to get a handle on it by going to the MS website and putting in that stop error. However I think that in the end it will be a driver or peice of hardware... If you haven't loaded a new driver reciently or added a new peice of hardware like memory, CPU, or video card, it could be the PSU.
To rule out memory get a copy of memtest86 and test your ram, if all is good them check your PSU. Look at your voltages in the BIOS that might give a clue if you see voltages below norm's... Also just to be safe check the CPU temp to make sure that your not overheating...

I had to switch the memory stick into another socket and since i got two modem card in my compu(don't ask me why... cos i don't know) that where using the same bump memory file, I had to switch one of them too...
It's all allright now..
