Is 2004 the year of the Centrino?

edited February 2004 in Science & Tech
Well will it be? Not if Intel keep misleading its customers with truth bending advertisements. Nevertheless, the chip maker plans to begin running a number of new TV, print, online and outdoor ads geared towards increasing the adoption of its Centrino notebook processor, with well, anyone who has a notebook.

[blockquote]Centrino has already been on the market for nearly a year and Intel has been marketing it to consumers since the summer of 2003. But so far consumers have been slow to adopt it. Instead, the majority of notebooks equipped with Centrino or Pentium M have been purchased by businesses, according to analysts and PC makers. Intel will endeavor, with its new campaign, to shift consumers toward Centrino notebooks.

Thats caus Intel screwed themselves over by advertising huge numbers. The centrinos dont have the high MHz like the P4 laptops do so all the comsumer sees is that it has a lower MHz for a seemingly bloated price. Thus they buy the P4 CPUs.
