I got a small problem installing my 64bit windows. I go through setup but when its Installing devices it gets halfway through and lock. Tried both the VIA and promise controllers and no go. Disables both the ethernet and sound still no go. Only thing left is video card I think

What I am saying is maybe you should try to install to IDE. I understand your drives are SATA, I didn't mean plug your SATA into the IDE :P I mean get an IDE drive and install to that.

Anyways its just a suggestion, might not be your problem. Doesn't hurt to try.

There are SATA drivers for a number oif controllers actually. Its not like SATA itself is a NO-GO on 64bit XP

I know Ive downloaded the Drivers for hte 64bit version for the Via and promise SATA controllers and they worked but I cant figure out what i causeing it to lok during install. I dont think power is a problem i have a 480 TT But just to make sure I got a 520 global win PSU since i owed the TT to overload anyways

How are you installing it? Does microsoft give you a bootable ISO, or do you have to do an upgrade install?
