In the stinker thread I said a XP2400 CPU from Micro Direct was £92. It's not. I got a message from Spinner and checked it, they are only $52! Must be the eye strain kicking in, Thanks Spinner And thanks Neo for the kind offer. I'll still take you up on that.
Sorry for the confusion.

Good to know I am not the only one with their monitor at greater than arms-length. I'm either going to have to get glasses, or a bigger room. :rolleyes2

Hehehe, csimon, I resemble that remark too! Got reading glasses a couple of yrs ago and now my right eye which has 3 scar lacerations on it is going real bad. I sit approx 2' from my 19" hatachi and it's still blurry. Looks like words are typed over 3-4 times and a little twisted. I'm hoping I can get laserwork done to help or correct it. But that's a long way off for now. $$$ Thats one of the reasons I'm not online all the time anymore. I get eyestrain headaches.

Sorry to hear about that Hawk. I have decided to take some IRS returns and invest in a Samsung SyncMaster 192t lcd/dvi in early march.

I think we need a "bad eyes" thread in the Pub.... I can join in on that one also, Right eye has enough junk in it that I am thinking I will have to literally get the fliud replaced in eyeball. I know a doctor who has doen just that.

Use right eye to read with, left eye will be used to drive with-- which eye will have middle vision, we are still working out. Left eye now can only read with reading glasses plus astigmatism correction. Right eye, without reading glasses for monitor(just astigmatism correction), and with for tiny stuff on motherboard unless I use a magnifier (3x to 7X). And I am only 51.... This is not a moan, this is simply called adapting.... :D

Sounds like some of you folks are going farsighted (normal for lots of us), me I have to have forced nearsightedness in one eye for brain to process vision right.... Working on that now.... With a 2 diopter "test" contact lense in right eye and glasses on-- BOTH at once.

I have only had one eye test, years ago, she said I had perfect vision. In the last few years I noticed close up reading getting harder. Understanding wife said to try her reading glasses, POW, I couldn't believe the differance. I now use the for gaming as well, I can't believe haw good this monitor has got. (19 inch IIyama vision master pro)
Now, where did I put me fags?

I would comment but I can't make out some of the text well enough to understand what is going on. Where are those damn glasses, I didn't need them last year........
