Image sorting programs

I need an image sorting program.
I have a lot of images and small thumbnails, they are in directories all over the place.
Does a thumbnail eliminator exist?
I need to delete all the thumbnails, I do not need them anymore.
It would be nice if the program could sort the images into different directories as well.
How can I sort this mess?
Can I do it with ACDSee?
I have version 6.0
I have tried doing a search in XP, but the comp freeze up when I order it to delete over 1000 files at once.
