I am attempting to burn a DVD+R with my HP 300i DVD Writer. Record Now keeps giving me the message that the disc doesn't have enough space on it, yet i've tried 3 different blank disk and checked for updates, I also restarted twice, yet I still will not accept the blank disk. Any ideas anyone???

Have you updated the Firmware? This page from HP has links to some utilities & firmware.

Be careful with the firmware - follow the instructions and be sure you get the exact one for your drive!

    hmm... ok, i'll try that

I just realized I put this in the wrong section. I think it's more a 'software' thread. Sorry.

That did not work at all profdlp. This is most annoying, even on HP's site there is not troubleshooting for this type of problem!!! HELP!

Just a thought, but did all of the discs come from the same pack? If so, maybe try a different brand.

    Me being :topic:

I've tried different disks, and disks with files on them -- nothing works... so, i guess it is broken... I'm gonna exchange it.

It's a cool avatar, I'm not criticizing that. I guess it's just the idea that a parent would let their kid get so stinking fat.

If we're talking about the same thing, I think I saw this kid's story on TV a while back. The parents thought nothing of taking the poor (not so) little guy to McDonalds and buying him five Big Macs and whatever else he wanted.

I have a HP DVD 300i and I had to put into another system in order to flash the firmware... not sure why. I still couldn't burn dvd's worth a crap until I bought the newest version of Sonic's MyDVD... WORKS great!!!
