DVD region Settings

IS there anyway to setup specific regions settings on my PC's DVD player? I got the message that a disk was not formatted for my region but it worked in my set top player. Tried a different disk and it worked but looked kinda fuzzy. Can I change the settings or are they built into the player itwself or should it pickup anything? Anybody?

Change the settings by going into the device manager, right clicking on your DVD-ROM, going to properties, then the region tab.

u can change it, but there is a certain number of chnges u can make, i got 4 remaining, and u can also get a patched firmware for your dvd rom, and then it will just be region free.
here is an example pic of where to change your dvd region.

I've seen that limit in changes also, why do they do that? What if I want to move around the world 6 times?
