ME keeps loosing display drivers - help

I have done a virus check (including update), nothing there. When this first happened I had lost "drivers=mmsystem.dll" from under the boot heading in system.ini (opened in notepad and repaired). And my display driver "sis-630" was missing. Now under system in controls it shows that my drivers are working fine. but when I use an older model driver the graphics work fine.
I used the computer for nealy two weeks at least shutting down 3 times a day, now it has lost the display driver again but drivers=mmsystem.dll is still there. I did the same as last time and it worked but when I shut it down and rebooted explorer was missing-found it and re-applied it. I then shut down and now it goes to start but after the picture windows ME it beeps and the screen goes to black and just hangs. I can get into safe mode so please help,CHEERS

    Welcome to SM :)

Post back with your system setup.. listing motherboard/CPU/Video card and so on, makes it easier for us to diagnose the problem :)

I started windows in safe mode and used msconfig and halted system.ini and its working fine-must be a bloody driver fault I take it, or am I wrong?
