New case? Is the power supply new too? What UPS are you using? The new PSU may be more sensitive to power.

Are you sure that it isn't in hibernation? I have one that likes to do that, and there was no wake command.

If this happens every night or every day, im almost sure it needs more vcore or more memory volts. A notch or 2 is all it takes.

I have had this happen to me as well and upping the vcore slightly helps. BTW, this only happened when i fold Gromacs as well. Can you try this tonight?

The only other thing i can think of is voltages.

In your bios, is there an option where you can check your voltages, temps etc? Can you get into bios and on that page, stare at the voltages for 5 min and see how much they fluctuate. If the 5V is below 4.8 at any time, that may be the problem. If the 12V is under 11.5, that may be it. Overvolting isn´t any problem as long as it dont go sky high, like 13V and 5.4V.

If he is folding on it which i think, according to his sig. Hibernate should´t be the problem.

I´m sure you got things right now.

This has never been a problem.

Didn't change outlets or surge protector

Not sure if my gcard is over heating or not, but it has a fan and there are 2 intake fans blowing on it. so i doubt if its overheating.

    P.S. - It hasn't locked up yet :D

I'm going to try one more Vcore setting in just a min. though.

Do any of you have any other suggestions?

///edit: locks up with yet another Vcore :bawling: I think i may kill it.

When you moved it to the new case, did you get all of your PCI cards in the exact same slots? If you're not sure, you could try blowing out your devices in Device Manager and let Windows find them again.

Have you removed and re-seated your memory and cables?

Did you check to make sure you didn't knock the CPU heatsink/fan cockeyed?

edcentric made a good point: If I were you I would put the power supply from the old case into the new one. Maybe the new power supply is wiggy.

Does it only lock up when you're not using it? Maybe you have a dorked screensaver. Try disabling all of the Power Management stuff.

Is there a possibility that something is grounding out on you? Maybe check your wires for a pinch point somewhere. Also, check your MB standoffs - if you have an extra one where it shouldn't be it could be causing a short to ground.

(Hope I didn't get too technical with those scientific terms, like "wiggy" and "dorked".):p

    Ok,

Do this happen when folding or not?
DO NOT run f@h tonite, run some other stress program instead and see.

I took everything apart, unplugged it and all that good stuff. My computer has been up for 2 1/2 hours and it hasn't locked up, so hopefully its working again.

CHECK YOUR MEMORY. Always check memory FIRST to make sure it's good, then you can go from there.
