well, i went to his house to install Mandrake, i had to get into the bios, it was locked, i reset the bios, got in, to my surprise i got into the Frequency etc. settings. his default speed was 600Mhz, i got it to 715mhz, is this a good OC? the temps were real low, like 35 Degrees Celsius, everything was running ok, so i just left it like that. prime 95 didnt report anything. and there was no funny errors.

is this a good OC? i dunno... cause i dont OC much. i pretty much maxed out the motherboard, it wouldnt go any higher. (the settings)

Well, if you maxed out the mobo and it's running OK, then you've done as good as you can with it, Jengo. :)

Depending on the core version, some of those celerons will overclock to 1000 MHz pretty easily. It's not worth it to buy a new mobo to go higher with the present proc though.

I had an 800MHz celly that did 1100MHz with no problems on my ASUS CUV4X-E if I remember the mobo nomenclature correctly.

    Amen.

That's about 20% above it's rated speed. Not bad at all, especially considering the price. :D

I have a celery 600 that would not do 100 fsb no way no how...but ran 4 years @ 750 (83 X 9) without ever a hiccup. Was retired about mid-last year, still have it and its mobo here if anyone were to be looking for something like this.
