Got some prices yesterday, bought the parts today. Got home 10:30 and had it put together by 12:30. Must be learning a bit, lol.

Bought a cheap Asus P4S800-MX-UAYZ mobo, an Intel 2.8 HT proc, 2x512m Ram and a 40G Seagate H/D. Bought the case earlier in the week. It already had a 450W psu in it and also got a CD player to load up programs.

2 extra network cables and after modifying the network setup, everything worked a treat. (Thanks for the help in the networking section, guys).

Handed it over to Sally to do the keyboard stuff. It all went pretty good too. Had it online and running by about 5:00.

She has it running in HT, folding 2 WU's at the time. :fold::fold:
So......she now has 2 x HT's and 2 x singles, folding 6 WU"s at the time. :woowoo:

If anyone up the ranks think they are safe, check your rear-vision mirrors as Jonshandbrake is coming to challenge. :smokin:

Way to got dragon and handbrake who should switch username if this keeps going. :D:fold:

The brake doesn't appear to be breaking anything other then a whole lot of ranks. Keep this up and even csimon will have to look out. ;D

Hehehe, that Handbrake has been applied for a bit too long and now it's worn and off like a runaway truck. Since Sally was doing so well, i thought i'd get her a dedicated folding rig. There are no programs on it. Just the basics to make it work. It's all for a good cause and a whole lot of fun. She even talked me into changing my laptop into her name, lol. On the other side of it, it is keeping me amused going through stats.
All i have left folding in my name is the old Athlon 850. Still, we are having a good time of it.

Way to go dragon! :thumbup I've done various upgrades, swapped heat sinks, hardrives, cpus, ram.. lil things really, but I haven't built a computer on my own yet. My confidence isn't that high yet. I might pick up my new system in pieces rather than having them build it so that I, too can experience the joy of childbirth. LOL

This is only the 2nd we have done our selves. Not too bad for old fossils if i may say so myself, lol. Must admit it was a bit frightening at the start, but with Short-Media on your side, how can you go wrong, hehehe.

Good for you guys.. to build one and find it not a painful experience (especially after the last one!) ;)

:fold: on guys.. nice work for the effort!

Man, this computer went together much easier than the last one, dragon, WTG! I'm so glad that you didn't have hell with this one too. You'll find that Sally's going to shoot up the ranks with all that power folding now also. :smokin:

Next thing you know, we'll have you overclocking that baby, there's another 400-700 MHz left in it easily. ;) Both the P4 Northwoods I'm running can do 3200 with ease.
