Futureshop has the LG 48x24x48x (Write, rewrite, read cd) 16x DvD read combo drive on for $149.99 cdn - $40 instant rebate - $70 mail in rebate. Which makes it $39.99 (that's $30 US
) The deal is only good until tomorrow and stock is out. I ordered 2 (for 2 different households) one while it was in stock and one while it was out.
The offer is only good in canada.
LG generally makes / rebrands decent quality stuff but its probably not lite-on quality.
