NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb Preview

MediaManMediaMan Powered by loose parts.

NVIDIA are now on their third incarnation of the nForce chipset with nForce3. The NVIDIA nForce 250Gb stands at the forefront with NVIDIA Gigabit Ethernet, NVIDIA Firewall, a new system utility for control over system settings and massive hard drive support through NVIDIA RAID. NVIDIA have taken common features that enthusiasts already know one step further. The NVIDIA PR folk brought the nForce3 250Gb into the office the other day for a one on one and admittedly it not only garnered some interest; some features are just darn clever.

Is this what nForce should have been to begin with? You decide here.

Well that's the problem. There is no confirmation but if NFORCE2 boards are rumored to be avaible with some of the 250 Gb features in May then the nForce3 250Gb has got to be out before that...

OCWorkbench: Epox 9NDA+ NF3 Ultra Socket 939 mobo
EP-9NDA+ is a nVidia nForce3 Ultra chipset mainboard for the yet-to-launch AMD new K8 939 CPU, EP-9NDA+ motherboard offers four dual-channel DDR DIMM slots that can accommodate ultra-fast DDR memory modules and a dual-channel memory architecture that maximizes the amount of data that can be shuttled between the processor and memory, eliminating an all-too-common obstacle to attaining top system speed. Moreover, the board also includes Gigabit Ethernet for stupendously fast networking.

On the storage front, the EP-9NDA+ also shines. It provides two P-ATA ports compliant with the ATA-133 specification, as well as four S-ATA ports delivering 150Mbps throughtpput. Moreover, the new board offers comprehensive and easy-to-use RAID capabilities, with support for RAID 0, 1,10,and 5. In fact, the I/O features provided by the EP-9NDA+ motherboard make it deliver tomorrow's capabilities today.

The mighty motherboard also provides one AGP 8x slot and six PCI slots. Moreover, it comes with Gigabit Ethernet networking on-board, as well as 8-channel audio. The EP-9NDA+ motherboard does not stop even there. It also provides EPoX's exclusive PowerBIOS overclocking technology, which allows a full range of overclocking settings to be made from the BIOS.
