Toast File Format

I was just downloading some files for IRC when I noticed they are in .toast file format. I have never heard of this. I figured I would let them download anyway seeing as they are 700MB files and the bot is sending at 200KBp/s :D. Anyway, I went looking on the net and it says toast is some crazy light experiment and it has files for linux. This also confuses me as the files I am downloading never ran on linux. Could anyone clear this up for me.

    Its an Apple Mac burning software image. Hope you have a mac handy :D

    Yup thats the idea i got looking around google, had a quick look for something that can open/burn them without a mac but no luck
