Groups Debate U.N. Control of Internet
United Nations member states this weekend headed off a showdown over who should control the Internet, agreeing to study the issue and reopen it in 2005.

//edit: Yeah, legislate the internet through the UN and see how that works out Can you imagine? The UN is worse than (the US) Congress in getting stuff done and they want to run a technology that you can't talk fast enough to keep up with? I guess I understand wanting better access to ICANN (even though I don't know wth they mean by that) but why would a country with less computers than Prince Edward Island have an equal say as the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the EU, etc. who have built the infrastructure of the internet? For that matter, why is the government getting involved at all? For once, maybe the US has the right idea. Sure, study it, but then decide to leave it the hell alone.
