Apple win in logo spat 'unlikely'

edited March 2004 in Science & Tech
It is unlikely that Apple will win a logo registration dispute with China's Trademark Appraisal Committee (TAC) because the Apple logo under discussion does not have a bite taken out of it, according to experts.

[blockquote]"The logo of Apple Computer is well-known throughout the world and is unique from other apple logos, since its right side appears to have a good-sized bite out of it, and it has a leaf that extends to the right. The logo's design is like no other company's logo on the planet and the firm should be given dispensation for that reason."[/blockquote]

Here are the logo's.... Apple will lose. Not even close. If Apple does win, they should sue Fugi and granny smith for making apples that look like the Apple Logo... grrrr.

How close a trademark needs to be to be improper depends on both appearnce and use. If the red apple is being used on computers, then they actuall have a case. On anything else, no chance.
