I don't know why, but a few weeks ago I went to look at one of ATi's kool 3d demos. (Pipe dream) It gives me an error. (Below) It's weird. I reinstalled the drivers earlier today and had it working. Now it doesn't work again. The error is as follows.

(from error.txt)

//=====================================================
// ATI Sushi Error Log Created 4/1/2004 10:54 pm
//=====================================================
[AwFn.cpp] (line 781): D3DAw Error: AwInitWindow - Unable to create a D3D device
[Main.cpp] (line 557): AwInitWindow returned FALSE! Unable to create window! Quitting!

Does anyone know what this is? Can I fix it?

    Lol guess not. It's tellin' me the software I am installing "has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP." Something I'm doing wrong? Do I need to uninstall it first? 'Cause I don't know how to do that. And BTW, only some of the demos don't work. Like most of the 9700 Series (my card) demos don't work, but the screensavers and the 9800 Series demos do work. I just don't get it.

    DirectX 9.0B from www.microsoft.com/directx should install with no warnings. It's a single executable installer with no options to it. Just click and go. :)

    Grr! :mad2: This thing's getting retarded now. Won't install even in safe mode! Well, I think If DirectX ain't passin' whql testing something's not right. I'll run a virus check...

    I agree. Somethin's right crooked if DX is registering invalid to the WHQL engine.

    Run a virus check, spyware check, and make sure your Cryptographic Services service is enabled if you're running Windows XP.

    That's odd. That particular service was disabled. I'll let the virus and spyware checks finish and try again.
