When you use one of the videocard overclock programs like Riva, is there ever any need in which you may have to go into bios and bump up the volt at all? Id like to hear some trial and error that some have possably gone thru. thanks in advance!!

I've seen physical mods made to video cards to increase voltage. I think that is needed because the agp can only supply so much power.

...A link to another community. Has very detailed pictures and instructions for doing such mods, if you want to get into all that. If you have the proper cooling, you can get some insane speed out of your card. 500+ MHz. And BTW, these mods have different variations for each card from the 9500 series to the 9800 series.

AGP slot voltage increases will be mitigated by the 9800's voltage regulator to a nominal operational level unless the card is also modified to not do so.

I agree with the above statements that modding the card is the only way to increase the voltage enough to make a difference. If you decide to mod your vid card we do not in any way accept liability concerning the results including possible destruction of your card. You will also need very good cooling of both the GPU and the RAM on the card.
