good ftp

i need a good ftp program to share some files with a friend. i was hoping for a secure ftp, could i use vpn with one?thanks guys for any input

    Ditto on Serv-U, I've been using it for years, and it has lots of security options. Great app.

    i don't know if any of you have heard of nullsoft waste, but this was a pretty cool idea that hopefully someday will be fully developed.

    it's an encrypted p2p network, though. for small groups of people, and is perfect for what you are talking about. it lets you send and receive files as well as chat on a completely secure network.

    Just heard about that WASTE program a couple of weeks ago, it looks pretty good, sort of an encrypted Kazaa with password security. Looks like a neat way to run a WAN file server.
