Sigs and Milestones: Back Online!

I did nothing but code for the past 24 hours besides sleeping and eating... literally. :p The system is back online (and hopefully it will conitnue to update correctly... that's the one thing I couldn't really test until it's time for it to update).

Known issues:
  1. The stars-only sigs will not update
  2. New members will not be added to the generator and new member notifications for mods are offline

It wasn't exactly the smoothest upgrade... I borked the forums (just some errors on page) for about 30 seconds until I remembered to set the write permissions for the one file. Apologies for that.

This can now hold us over until I have time to remake the rest of the system to run off a database. Thanks for your patience while that was fixed.

//edit: Another known issue is that the "large" sigs are broken because I didn't fix the bit that calculates that stuff yet.

Thanks a lot Matt. Above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks a lot for doing it so quickly.:)

I got several emails that were the same and one big one with email 1k mark as a milestone.

Yeah... the first few were because the permissions were set wrong and it couldn't write the new version of the file. The big one was me reverting to the old files to stop the forums from b0rking. The last one then is when I figured out what I did wrong and flipped it back :)

I don't think sigs are updating and the stats are now at http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=93
maybe the site change is causing the problem

I just checked the scores in this thread... none of the sigs are more than a WU or so behind right now. The system should auto-check for updates every 3? hours or so (I forget what I set it to just now) so if a wider gap forms between sigs and the current stats I'll look into it but right now I'm going to claim they're still fine.

I'm aware of the stats location change. We don't use that file, though - Stanford requests that we use the text version of the stats.

ok I see that it's updated now. What I think was happening was the sig stats are updating but not in sync with stanford so I guess we could expect anywhere between 3-6 hrs between updates.

They may have changed this along with the other changes, but I think that while Stanford updates their stats every hour (staggered times for different teams) they request that teams update every three hours.

In the past our S-M stats have run a few hours behind Stanford.
