Are Athlon 64's good folders?

Cause I will have an FX-53 crankin out da big balls tomorrow! Water cooled and representin team 93! There will be some downtime for the dually as it gets a new home. I went with the Asus Via based board.

    My A64 turns out good points but its no FX

    I think its a bit better than the Athlon but no MAJOR improvements. citrixmeta has one clocked at 2.5 GHz WCed @41C load.

    Like mmonnin, very good folder but not too much improvement over a high clocked XP, since the fpu on the hammer series isn't too much different from the XP. It will fold the new Gromacs that utilize SSE2 a lot better than any K7 proc though as the hammer procs have SSE2 and the older procs don't.

    The only Gromacs that use SSE2 are the new ones that use the new core.

    ive noticed this with my A64 I can fold while doing alot of other processes down and it still chugs through not slowing down

    Im kidding. Im just jealous. Ive want3d an A64FX for so long but they are like 800$ wihich is just out of my CPU budjets reach.

    That CPU should SCREAM. Congratulations!

    Will you post some benches for us when you get her up and running?
