Can I get any faster?

I have a P4 2.8c @ 3.2 GHz. I tried getting it just a little faster, but once I hit 3.3 or 3.35 it tells me there's a corrupt system file and at 3.4 or 3.5 it refuses to post. Good thing my mobo can set down the speed by itself, that would be a big pain in the ass. Anyway, I'm wondering if maybe it's my cooling (stock), and I've been looking at this HSF mmonnin suggested. Should I go for it? Or maybe my P4 can't go much faster? I doubt it's that 'cause I've seen a few hit 4 GHz with proper cooling.

that heatsink is a monster and will definitely help raise your limit (especially since it ought to allow a much higher vcore). of course i was never able to get my p4 to run above stock - either the chip, the ram, or the mobo, i cant afford to switch them around - so good luck!

I don't know how good of an idea this is but had a tbird 1.4 that wouldn't go above default with win98se but with winME it was completely stable at 1654. what I'm getting is the operating system could be the problem. if you don't mind reinstalling windows my idea is try one of the live cd's of a linux distros at the speeds you want to overclock and if it's stable maybe wiping hdd and re-install while overclocked at those speeds will work but before I would go thru all that when in the linux cd run mprime to make sure it's actually stable.
