Abit Nf7-s 2.0 - Vtt Mod!
Some guys at Xtreme Forums found a valuable part to extreme NF7-S 2.0 overclocking- a VTT mod.
Some of us, including me, have high VDIMMs but don't have a VTT to match. Technically, VTT is to be 1/2 of VDIMM. The NF7, unmodded, will give 2.9 VDIMM, and 1.45 VTT max. An example of when this mod is needed: I am currently running 3.28VDIMM, which I should have a VTT of 1.64V to obtain best chances at stability, but only have 1.45VTT. Modding would give me stability at my current achieved FSB and maybe even a few MHz more.
Several people have done this mod @ Xtreme, this is a proven method.
A guy named tictac has put up instructions for 2 methods here. Some very good pictures of the completed mod here.
Credit Goes to:
enduracell : main idea
tictac: just give some opinion and double check Malves Vtt trace
bachus_anonym: post pic of dead board with winbond ic remove
Malves: find the vtt trace and vtt mod from the pic
bachus anonym : beta test
I'll be doing the mod ASAP
Enjoy!
