"ATI Catalyst drivers and Adobe Gamma"

This explains why I am having problems with PowerStrip gamma + brightness
FYI - ATI has just confirmed that as of Catalyst driver build 4.2, 3rd party color calibration tools such as Adobe Gamma, Colorvision's PhotoCal and Eye1 are no longer supported. According to a statement on their website, "the ATI Color tab [is] a central location to maintain color and gamma profiles". Unfortunately, this colortab is incompatible with 3rd party calibration software.
Unbelievable, IMHO, since ATI basically states that they are no longer interested in having graphics enthusiasts and professionals as customers. This during a time where digital photography and image processing is booming business.

That is crap... on both sides of the story... no I didn't read it all, but on those quotes in your post, it's just not how I see it.

I don't know anyone who uses, nor heard of anyone who uses any of those calibration tools. It's done manually... I hope I didn't just cross some information in a misunderstood idea, LOL!

Indeed it is, Ati has "fixed" the issue.
Guess they weren't too happy with the bad publicity.
Quite a lot of people didn't like Ati because they took the choice away from the user.
