If i change the Mobo in one of our puters to a different one, like from Gigabyte to Asus and everything in the puter stays the same, do i need to reformat the Hard Disk due to it having a different Bios setup????

Reason?? ...............Don't ask!!

It depends mostly on the chipset - if the chipset is the exact same, it could be fairly painless. More often than not, what you have to do is uninstall all "system devices" and then shut the computer down, install the new mobo, and then boot off the XP CD and do a repair install.

i would rather to do a clean install, because it's much more painless later on even if it's the same chipset.

Thanks guys. Pretty much the answers i expected. Was hoping for a simpler solution.

Will be fixed easily now. Just got another copy of XP Home EOM.

XP wont mind if it's the same chipset and drivers. My Epox KT400 > Epox KT600 upgrade was painless and easy (3 months ago)

Later this weekend I'm going to try it going from a Abit NF7-S v2 to a DFI Ultra (Both NF2 Ultra400 chipsets) On a ghosted drive of course.. :)
