Mondays Running Commentary..

So we have hit the ground running and Monday is very much upon us already.

Reading the current crop of news we are seeing "story" and then "no story" at the flick of a button. Hands up all those who got sucked in by the XP Reloaded stories? Even we did. When it comes from a reputable source, one does believe it _could_ be true. Well it appears that there is no XP reloaded/second edition planned from the mighty microsoft. Yet. The great Redmond based monolith seem intent on keeping us guessing....

So we hit a new week with no doubt more revelations to come. Stories of interest could potentially be the ever moving graphics card market. With PCI express and the latest cards from ATI & nVidia hitting us, are we about to see the next generation or just another batch of "yep we upped the core by x mhz and did x with the memory". Answers on the back of a postage stamp please. Promises of performance backed with "you need a 1kw power supply to use this card" do bare interesting circumstances.

In other news, the buzzword of the moment is "Omegasearch". Shame it's for all the wrong reasons. Omegasearch appears to have succesfully infiltrated a huge amount of unsuspecting PC's with it's malware/spyware/thisshouldn'tbeallowedware. Nuke the new evil here.

Perhaps one is cynical but when the next generation ATI card hits the stores before I can use the free half-life 2 voucher I got with the last generation, it's sending a message. We pay, we play and damn this technology.
